Founder & Managing Director

Nicholas Samuel MNAEA MARLA

After taking over several agencies, Nick has grown Samuel Estates’s property portfolio and expanded the lettings part of our business into Central, East, and South East London. It is now an award-winning boutique agency with an increasing number of international customers.

Before Samuel Estates, Nick worked in a senior role within the IT Directorate for Post Office, overseeing change control and commercial input on the automation platform run by Fujitsu Services – formerly Europe’s largest ever non-military IT contract.

Nick is heavily involved in the local business community as a Director of the Merton Chamber of Commerce and also held the position as Chair of a Town Centre Partnership Board. Hobbies include tennis, personal fitness, paddle-boarding and Nick is a keen adventure traveller.

Director

Paul Ahearn

Paul, originally from Zimbabwe, joined Samuel Estates in 2006, previously coming from an accounting background. Paul has worked hard to assist in growing and making Samuel Estates the success we are today.

Paul’s primary role is overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, covering lettings, sales and property management. His knowledge and understanding of the property market is second to none.

When he finds time to relax, he loves nothing more than going fly fishing in the country.

Head of Property Management

Yohana Gabanes MARLA

Yohana has worked as a property manager for Samuel Estates since October 2017, rising through the ranks to Senior Property Manager, Team Leader and, in 2022, to our Head of Property Management. She has extraordinary experience in different management roles during her 17-year career in catering and property. She strives to do right by her customers, from listening to their needs to going above and beyond in helping them achieve their goals. She has become highly recommended by her clients and professionals in the field, supporting her enthusiasm, client dedication and expertise.

Outside work, Yohana likes travelling, meeting with friends and spending time with her partner. She is also very passionate about decoration, so she spends many hours looking at decoration websites and planning the next change in her house.

Ryan Chemaly

Ryan joined Samuel Estates in October 2015 as a Lettings Coordinator. In June 2018 he was promoted to Lettings Manager and has been loving every minute of it!

Walking into client’s homes and helping them achieve their rental objectives is great job satisfaction. He offers honest advice and takes a consultative approach to the rental market, understanding our client’s needs and mapping out a plan for success.

Outside of Samuel Estates Ryan is a new father and enjoys spending time with his family and watching sports.

Head of Residential Sales

Charl Cilliers

Charl has been working in the property industry since 2009, having recently relocated from South Africa to the UK, he joined Samuel Estates in May 2023 and is committed to achieving outstanding results in the industry.

Charl strongly believes that effective communication among all parties is crucial for success and leads to happy clients.

He aims to expand the sales division within the company and become the first choice for every homeowner and prospective buyer in our serviced areas.

During his free time, Charl enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing at home whilst also enjoying an occasional round of golf.

Company Secretary

Janet Borrow LLB

Following her studies at the London School of Economics, Janet worked as a lawyer undertaking a wide range of commercial work in advising SMEs. Her role involved offering guidance on company commercial and employment matters; acquisitions; shareholder and partnership agreements terms and conditions & website compliance.

Janet is now the Samuel Estates Company Secretary. She works with the Directors on various legal matters, commercial negotiations and in our agency acquisition strategy.

Head of Marketing

Sakis Caramanlis

Sakis initially manages the business’ marketing activity. He brings with him a wealth of experience having worked for marketing agencies, including both in-house and freelance positions over his 10-year career. He’s a keen gym-goer, music-lover and a bit of geek (Apple one at that!).

He’s always interested to hear about any collaborations and new happenings in PropTech.

Head of Search and Acquisition

Julie Matthews

Julie Matthews, who previously directed Red Property Services has joined the Samuel Estates team, heading up our Search and Acquisitions. She brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked across the UK and Hong Kong.

Property Manager

Angela Bartiromo

Angela has worked for Samuel Estates since May 2011 coming from a fashion retail background, supervising staff and the daily runnings of the store.

She now works as part of our Property Management team, carrying out property inspections on all our managed properties.

Her favourite reason for working for Samuel Estates is working our positive team spirit. She loves creating a friendly face and atmosphere.

A typical day for Angela is getting out and checking properties and liaising with tenants, landlords and contractors.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and keeping fit.

Chi-Huy Ha

Chi-Huy Ha has been a Property Manager with Samuel Estates since June 2018. Chi has a combined experience of 5 years working in the Estate Agency business and comes from an Accounting background.

His favourite part of his job is liaising with contractors to get issues sorted promptly. When Chi is not at work, he enjoys going to the theatre, concerts and eating plenty of chocolate!

David Mortimer

David joined Samuel Estates in 2022.

He has over 8 years of experience working in property management in a wide range of property types from HMO to regular residential lets. He has always enjoyed both aspects of client management and building good relationships with both tenants and client landlords.

He always strives to provide excellent customer service and finds satisfaction in resolving issues and keeping all parties happy with their service.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and their array of activities and socialising with friends.

Property Manager

Jade Moeller

Jade joined Samuel Estates in 2022 as a Property Manager. She comes from a management background with many years of experience in various roles within the property industry. She utilises her vast industry-knowledge within her role, ensuring that her clients (landlords and tenants alike) are happy and getting the excellent service they deserve.

She is highly organised and ensures all tasks are dealt with within a timely manner and provides continuous feedback to all parties. She takes pride in her excellent attention to detail and doesn’t rest until the job is done.

In her spare time, she is a mother to two beautiful young girls, who take up all her spare time, but she wouldn’t have it any other way! Her interests are party-planning and decorating and she enjoys baking and creating elaborate parties for her family.

Senior Property Manager

Stephen Streek MARLA

Stephen brings to Samuel Estates a wealth of knowledge from working as a property manager. He has spent over three decades excelling in the competitive landscape of residential letting establishing a reputation as a well-respected and innovative agent. His reputation is built on trust, straight-talking, transparency and good local knowledge.

When he has time to relax he likes nothing better than spending time fishing, skating wall climbing or attempting to ballroom dance which is difficult with two left feet.

Alizon Monk

Alizon Qualified as a home economist before transferring into property sales and management running her own property management company for over thirty years and building up a loyal following with a service that goes above and beyond.

When not working Alizon enjoys all things home economics including cookery, food and drink. She has travelled extensively enjoying all life has to offer and loves a challenge enjoying one of the longest highest zip wires, white water rafting and looking for brown bears – whilst wanting to run from!

Alizon lives in the country and can often be found with friends exploring walking trails or caring for her new grandson but her passion will always be all things property.

Senior Sales & Lettings Consultant

Daniel Jameau MNAEA

Daniel has been working with Samuel Estates since 2015. His typical day consists of following up on enquiries, arranging and carrying out viewings and pushing to obtain the best possible price for our clients. His role also involves keeping clients up to date with the market and progress of finding new tenants as well as uploading properties to the online portals.

Daniels favourite aspect of working for Samuel Estates is matching properties to the right applicant and seeing their face when they move into their dream home!

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending his free time with his girlfriend and friends and when he can; squeeze in some games on his Xbox.

Lettings Negotiator

Bilal Jamil

Bilal joined Samuel Estates in 2021. Coming from a marketing and partnerships background, Bilal wanted to focus more on a customer-facing role with plenty of interaction – which he is throughly enjoying as our newest Lettings Negotiator. His favourite aspect of the job is going above and beyond for applicants, understanding their needs and finding them a desirable home.

In Bilal’s spare time, he loves eating at different restaurants (ask him about his best local haunts!), and of course, supporting his beloved Arsenal team in the stadium. 

Lettings Consultant

Stefano Basciu MARLA

Stefano Basciu is one of our Letting Consultants and joined the team in March 2018. Since he moved to London in 2006, he has worked in the hospitality sector climbing the managerial ladder up to restaurant general manager. He then made the jump to the estate industry, bringing his particular attention of the customer care into this business with his unique Italian character and passion.

His favourite aspect of working at Samuel Estates is the friendly approach combined with the high skill of every team member that is always there for help and support. Outside of work, Stefano enjoys binge-watching TV series on Netflix, dining out with his girlfriend and spending time home petting his beautiful cat Fiona.

Renewals Coordinator & Property Management Support

Luke Pegg

With over 6 years already under his belt in the industry, Luke joined the Lettings teams as a Renewals Administrator initially and is currently in the role of  Renewals Coordinator & Property Management Support. Having worked for Countrywide as an apprentice he worked his way up to Lettings and Renewals Negotiator. As a former Army Cadet, he has a keen eye for detail and process! Luke aims to make every customer experience as pleasant (and efficient!) as possible.

Outside of Samuel Estates, Luke enjoys following football, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

Whitney Heathcote

Whitney recently moved to the UK from South Africa. She has been in the real estate industry since 2011 and has joined the property management team at Samuel Estates.

Whitney’s mantra is ‘to always go above and beyond’, as she strives to deliver an excellent service to all her clients. She has an outgoing personality which helps to create great and lasting relationships with her clients.

She loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, exploring new things and would consider herself a foodie at heart, she also absolutely adores animals and wildlife.

Susanne Mathes

Susanne has been with Samuel Estates since 2016 and has worked in the industry for nearly a decade. A lawyer by training, she has responsibility for overseeing and administering the clients accounts. A fan of order and efficiency, she enjoys supporting her colleagues in the property management team and engaging with a wide variety of landlords, tenants and suppliers.

Outside of work, Susanne enjoys spending time with her family, swimming and catching up with friends.

Office Administrator

Connie Ahearn

Connie worked in a variety of roles before moving from Zimbabwe to the UK in 2006, including 19 years working in the Catering & Hospitality Industry.

As our Office Administrator, Connie is the central point of contact for client communication. She greets and assists clients and visitors and carry out general administrative duties.

Dealing with landlords, tenants and utility companies is often challenging, and no day is the same, so being bored is never an option.

Her top five values include honesty, flexibility, conscientiousness, to be compassionate and finally to have a sense of humour “to be able to laugh at one’s self and to turn a dark moment into sunshine”.

She enjoys spending time with my family and friends, baking, reading and taking my pooch for a walk – especially when the sun is shining.

Luisa Costa

Luisa started her Property Management career in 2010 within the serviced apartments industry. She then moved into residential Property Management and hasn’t looked back since! Interior Design is one of her many passions, so she enjoys spending time on her house interior, which is always changing! Hailing from Madeira, she loves traditional Portuguese cuisine and aims to indulge in this passion every weekend.

Luisa enjoys the challenges that Property Management can encounter on a day-to-day basis. Being highly organised and a customer-centric, she gets the job done!

Residential Sales Consultant

Christian Van Ristell​

Christian joined Samuel Estates in July 2021 as a Sales Consultant, he previously worked in the Transport Industry and is thoroughly enjoying working in the property market and matching the right home with the right people.

He has become synonymous with his clients for his colourful socks, and his trustworthiness. Christian is valued for his honesty and sincerity, his tenacious attitude is what makes Christian a great asset to the team.

Sebastian Douglas

Sebastian joined Samuel Estates in May 2022. Sebastian has always had a keen interest in the property industry, which started at a very young age. Sebastian works on our reception during weekends.

Sebastian aims to provide all his clients with an efficient, professional, and friendly service. He approaches every task with enthusiasm and determination.

Outside of Samuel Estates, Sebastian is interested in sports cars and various designer clothes. He also plays rugby and enjoys going to the gym on the weekends.

I was born and raised in South Africa and migrated to Brighton (UK) in 2020. I worked in the Nightclub Industry for two years working my way up to being an integral part of the Management Team at Jungle Nightclub.

I joined Samuel Estates in November 2022 as a Lettings Consultant as I’ve always been interested in property and the wider real estate industry. I’m ecstatic to finally get on board, especially with Samuel Estates.

I’ve always enjoyed a challenge and am looking forward to working my way up in this industry. I love working with others and have a very outgoing personality, helping to create positive relationships with clients and colleagues in the workspace.

Outside of work, I really enjoy sports including, netball & water polo. Outside of the pool and court I really enjoy spending time with my friends and exploring London. I also absolutely love anything regarding travelling and the ocean.

Tiona Murray

Tiona has over 6 years of experience in both block and property management. She’s proudly obtained skills and qualities through working in various industries such as events, transport and facilities management.

She enjoys the fast paced and thriving environment that comes with the property management and likes learning new things. She is not shy to assist others with tasks and has a mean hand at darts!

In her spare time, Tiona loves to spend time in the kitchen baking cupcakes with the family or rustling up a new and adventurous dish.
